Saint Gregorios of Parumala is popularly known as ‘Parumala Thirumeni’. Metropolitan Geevarghese Mar Gregorios of the Indian Orthodox Church who passed away on November 2nd 1902, became the first declared saint from Malankara (Kerala, India) naturally to be called, ‘Parumala Thirumeni’. He shines in the cloud of witnesses as a bright luminary giving rays of hope to millions in their suffering and struggles.

With a great vision to give a spiritual and moral orientation to the members of Orthodox believers here in Adelaide, South Australia and to preserve the traditions handed over to us from our forefathers, St.Gregorios Orthodox Church has been nurturing a modest dream which is now being realized.

We would like to place on accord our sincere thanks to all those who have contributed to this attempt in big or small ways. With the intercession of Mother Mary, St.Thomas, St.George, St.Gregorios and with the blessings of all our holy fathers, we would like to submit this humble effort to the coming generation.

A Prayer

O Lord, our God, make us worthy to honour and celebrate the day of remembrance of our holy father, Mar Gregorios of Parumala. You have called and appointed him as the shepherd of your flock. He has followed all your commandments and led a noble and holy life that was pleasing to you. After teaching and guiding the believers in the true faith, he has departed from this world and is interceding for all of us. O Lord, give us your grace to follow his footsteps. We offer you praise and thanksgiving, now and always for ever and ever. Amen.
Our spiritual father, Mor Gregorios of Parumala, pray for us. One who has been chosen and set apart from childhood for the service of the Lord, Mor Gregorios, Beseech the Lord for grace and mercy. One who has led a holy and virtuous life, Mor Gregorios, Beseech the Lord for grace and mercy.
